Goal. You play Hearts against three computer opponents: West on your left, North across the table and East on your right. Everyone gets 13 cards. Tricks with hearts or the queen of spades bring penalty points – at the end, the player with the fewest points wins.
Passing cards. Before each round you pass three cards: in the first round to West (left), in the second to North (across), in the third to East (right). In the fourth round nobody passes, and then the cycle starts again. Click or tap three cards, then “Pass cards”. The cards you receive light up for a moment.
Tricks. Whoever has the two of clubs leads it to the first trick. Then everyone plays one card in turn, clockwise. You must follow the suit that was led; if you can’t, you may play any card. The highest card of the suit led takes the trick, and whoever takes it leads the next one.
Special rules. On the first trick you may not play hearts or the queen of spades (unless you have nothing else). You may lead hearts only once hearts are “broken” – that is, someone has already discarded a heart – or when you have nothing but hearts left. The queen of spades does not break hearts.
Points. Every heart counts 1 point, the queen of spades 13 points, all other cards nothing. Next to each name you see the score of the game and the tricks taken this round: a dot for a trick without points, ♥ for a trick with hearts, ♠ for the trick with the queen of spades.
Shooting the moon. If one player takes all 13 hearts and the queen of spades in a round, that player gets 0 points – and everyone else gets 26.
End of the game. The game ends after the round in which someone reaches 100 points or more. The player with the fewest points wins. The score is saved in your browser after every round, so you can come back and finish the game later.
